Fri, July 30, 2010 The first episode of our Live Expert Q&A show was shared with Jill Wanless, of Export Development Canada.

Insurance companies in the European Union are readying themselves for the approaching Solvency II deadline which places heavy demands on data quality and data governance strategies.
To help our readers learn more about Solvency II, we spoke with resident expert panelist Stephen Mills, Business Analytics Lead for Insurance, UK at IBM Global Business Services.
Jill Wanless is one of the most popular and active members in the online data quality community. Her blog "Data Quality From The Ground Up" is an inspiring account of how she has helped deliver data quality and data governance initiatives with limited funding using innovative "guerilla tactics".
In this interview Jill shares some of her experiences and tips for getting a data quality program off the ground and moving in the right direction.
For some time I've felt that what Data Quality Pro was lacking is a regular magazine or journal that consolidates articles, commentary and insights around certain themes.
To take this concept forward we've today launched the new look "Data Quality Herald", a unique magazine focused squarely on the needs of the data quality community. Our old Herald was simply a regular members only journal, the new Herald is significantly richer both visually in content, plus it's available to all.
The magazine features sections on topics relating to career development, community engagement, emerging technologies, expert interviews, industry best practices and much more.
To make life easier (and to save a few trees) the magazine will only be available online.
You can read the latest edition below, or if you want to grab a PDF copy and discover exactly what is in the first edition simply visit this link:

In this interview, expert information quality practitioner, Kathy Hunter from Kynetika, provides practical advice on getting started in the profession, getting an information quality initiative off the ground and developing a successful career.
